Im not going to waste space with a synopsis, as every second or third revision provides one. A good indication of the challenge and the original film is the number of 1/10 and 10/10 review, where 1/10 of the tips consist of several lines. A sure sign instead of friendly people able or willing to look with an open mind. What is a good sign for bystanders to give this film a wide berth.I wish everyone would see I am interested in Requiem for a Dream. Not because they like it, or you will learn something they did not already know, but it's a rare piece of work that will challenge and perhaps change them. It is a film that has never been done before, with nothing to compare with it - a rarity these days. I often find myself recommending movies to people who can not be described briefly. These are usually the most addictive and affects them. Id like my family to see this, but can not * recommended * to them. Ive recommended it to two friends, and they both had the same reaction: I'm glad I watched it, but I doubt I will be in a frame of mind to look again, knowing what feel.As sat down to watch the end credit, started to cry, but I'm still not sure why. Partly in reaction to this devastating tragic end, partially beauty (yes) the film, partly my gratitude for the good things in my life. I looked back on that night with my girlfriend, not because they mean to upset you, but I felt I had to share it. After the credits, we're both in silence for a good ten minutes. I discovered that I had thought that I wanted to express, but could not find words. This is one of the few films that are painful to live, but I feel compelled to share it with people who care. Some others in this short list include a thin red line, happiness, Rivers Edge, and deer Hunter.These film all share a quality that is difficult to name. Nobody wants to feel disturbed or destroyed by the film, a work of art, a piece of music, but I feel these emotions live and are asked to think not just about entertainment, it is now and you then.Favorite refer to this for me - it's not fun. One of the most devastating and beautiful I was watching a movie. One of the first five films I've ever seen.
