Tagline of this film is Epic Epic Epic Ness and could not agree. After waiting in line for 3 hours after the Comic-Con last night, and finally sit beautiful Balboa Theatre, I did not know what to expect. I loved the comic books and advances was loyal. At the time the movie starts (literally, the Universal logo and theme are 8-bit) you are in the comic atmosphere of video game references thrown aplenty.The The plot revolves around Scott Pilgrim win the 7 Evil Exes Ramona Flowers to him and it is a painful series of battles. Every fight is crazier than the last, and some are pure comedy used, there is no suspense. Almost every other line is the punchline, and they all work. References to the television, video games and comics (like the 20-somethings in life fall) are everywhere and if you accept the concept of the plot seems all natural.While public mightve not biased (we had a 10 minute Edgar Wright hat when the film was finished) there is no denying that it is a great movie. Edgar Wright is a strange sense of comic timing with edits and auditory signals, so the image tight and focused if you're looking for laughs. Cant imagine a mainstream theater erupting into applause and laughter as we did, but not, make no mistake, this crowd-pleaser, and the funniest movie I've seen in years. Do not hesitate to watch this masterpiece theater near you.
